Benefits of Reciting Surah Falaq

There are many benefits of reciting Surah Falaq daily. Some of them are:-

1. Beneficial in Severe Disease

Narrated Aisha (R.A):

When the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) got sick, he would read Surah Falaq and Surah An-Nas from the Quran. Then, his wife Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) would rub his hands over his body, hoping Allah’s blessings help him feel better. This shows how much they believed in the power of these Surahs to bring comfort and healing, especially when the Prophet was very ill.

2. Read Surah Ikhlas and Surah Nas along with Surah Falaq

Abdullah bin Khubaib (R.A) reported that:

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) told me to read Surah Al-Ikhlas and the last two chapters of the Quran, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas, three times each in the morning and evening. He said doing this would be enough to protect me in every way.

3. Protection from the Evil Eye

Nowadays, it’s easier for people to give the evil eye, even if they’re far away and just looking at our pictures on social media. Sometimes, even when someone likes us or something we have, they can accidentally give us the evil eye. That’s why reciting Surah Falaq is important for protection from all kinds of evil eyes.

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (R.A.) reported:

Before Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas were revealed, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) used to ask for protection from the bad spirits and the evil eye in different ways. But once these Surahs were revealed, he relied on them completely to seek Allah’s protection and stopped using any other methods.

4. Helping us meet all our Needs

Ibn Al-Qayyim said:

These two Surahs, Surah Falaq and Surah An-Nas are powerful. They can help push away magic, the evil eye, and all sorts of bad things. They’re so important that a person’s need to ask Allah for protection using these Surahs is even greater than their need for food, drink, or clothes.

5. Getting Protection from one Friday to Another

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said that if you read Surah Al-Ikhlaas, Surah Falaq, and Surah An-Naas seven times after the Friday prayer, Allah will protect you from harm until the next Friday.

6. Save yourself from the Fire of Hell

ibn Mardawih and Daylami narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (R.A.)

I asked the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) about the verse ‘Qul Aaoothu bi-Rabbi al-Falaq’ (113:1). He told me that Surah Falaq is like a jail in hell where cruel rulers and arrogant people will be punished. Even hell seeks protection from it by asking Allah to keep it away.

7. The reward of Reading the Entire Quran

It’s said that if someone recites Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah An-Nas, and Surah Al-Falaq ten times each every night, it’s like they’ve read the entire Quran. They’ll also be free from sins, just like when they were born, and if they happen to die on that day or night, they’ll be considered a martyr.

8. Helps us to Accept our Witr Prayer

Imam al-Baqir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that if someone recites Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas in three units of their night prayer, they’ll receive good news. Allah will tell them, “O servant of God! Congratulations! Your Witr prayer has been accepted.”

9. The Reward of Reciting all the Heavenly Books

It is said that if you recite Surah An-Nas and Surah Al-Falaq, it’s like you’ve read all the books of the prophets (Peace Be Upon Them).

Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran:

“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” [Surah Al-Baqarah: verse 153]
