The Importance of Ayat ul Kursi

The verse Ayat Al-Kursi from the Quran holds great significance, as seen in many hadiths and quotes. In one hadith found in Jami Tirmidhi Hadith No. 2884, Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ud (RA) said that there’s nothing in the heavens or the earth more magnificent than Ayat Al-Kursi. This is because it’s the Speech of Allah, which is greater than anything else in creation.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) also narrated various hadiths about the virtues of Ayat ul Kursi. In one, he mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that every part of the Quran has a pinnacle, and the pinnacle of the Quran is Surat Al-Baqarah. Within it lies Ayat Al-Kursi, which is the greatest verse in the Quran.

Another hadith in Jami At Tirmidhi Hadith No. 2879, also narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA), tells us that whoever recites Ha Mim Al-Mu’min (Surah Ghafir) and Ayat Al-Kursi in the morning will be protected until the evening, and whoever recites them in the evening will be protected until the morning.

1- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that if someone recites the first four verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, followed by Ayatul Kursi, and then the last three verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, they will be protected from difficulties in their wealth or themselves. Satan won’t come close to them, and they won’t forget the Quran.

2- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that the Quran is a magnificent book, and Surah Al-Baqarah is its leader. Within Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayatul Kursi holds a special position as its leader. He mentioned that Ayatul Kursi contains 50 words, and for each word, there are 50 blessings and goodness associated with it.

3- If you recite Ayatul Kursi every morning, you’ll be under Allah’s protection and safety throughout the day until nightfall.

4- If you attach Ayat ul Kursi to your wealth or children, they will be kept safe from Satan’s harm.

5- Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said that certain things can improve one’s memory. These include eating sweets, meat from the neck area of an animal, lentils (Adas), cold bread, and reciting Ayat ul Kursi.

6- For our loved ones who have passed away, reciting Ayat ul Kursi and giving it as a gift to them provides light (noor) in their graves.

7- Frequent recitation of Ayat ul Kursi makes one’s own death easy.

8- When you recite Ayat ul Kursi before leaving home, Allah sends a group of angels to protect you. If you recite it twice, two groups of angels are assigned to protect you, and if recited thrice, Allah Himself takes care of your protection, and the angels are told not to worry about you.

9- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that if you recite Ayat ul Kursi before going to sleep, Allah will send an angel to watch over you and protect you throughout the night.

10- When you’re alone at home, reciting Ayat ul Kursi and asking Allah for help will make you feel calm and unafraid.

11- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that if you recite Ayatul Kursi before leaving home, Allah will send 70,000 angels to seek forgiveness for you until you return home, and when you return, poverty will be kept away from you.

12- If you recite Ayatul Kursi after performing Wudhoo (ablution), Imam Muhammad Baqir (AS) said that Allah will reward you as if you’ve worshipped for 40 years, elevate your status in Heaven by 40 levels, and marry you to 40 Horains.

13- If you recite Ayatul Kursi after every prayer, your prayers will be accepted, and you’ll be under Allah’s protection, staying safe.

14- Allah told Prophet Musa (AS) that if someone recites Ayatul Kursi after every prayer, their heart will become grateful, they’ll be rewarded like the prophets, and their deeds will be as truthful as the Siddiqeen.
